Question 1: What were Emperor Akbar and Birbal doing one winter morning?

Answer: One winter morning, Emperor Akbar and Birbal were taking a walk along the lake.

Answer: Birbal said to Emperor Akbar that, a man would do anything for money.

Question 3: What did Emperor Akbar challenge Birbal to?

Answer: Emperor Akbar challenged Birbal to find a person who would be willing to spend an entire night in the cold water of the lake for money.

Answer: Emperor Akbar and his attendants laughed because they felt Birbal’s act as a foolish one. As he was sitting on the ground near some burning twigs, and trying to heat an earthen pot filled with khichdi that was hanging several feet above the fire.

Answer: Birbal did not come to the court the day after Emperor Akbar had refused to give the reward to the poor man by accusing him of cheating. When the messenger came from Birbal’s house and told the emperor that Birbal would come once the khichdi was cooked, Emperor Akbar went to Birbal’s house to see what he was up to after waiting for him for hours. When emperor Akbar and his attendants went to his house they found Birbal sitting on the ground near some burning twigs and an earthen pot filled with khichdi hanging several feet above the fire. It was impossible to cook the khichdi this way. When Emperor Akbar asked Birbal about it, Birbal told him that the khichdi could be cooked in the same way as the poor man took warmth from the palace lamp that was furlongs away. This way, Birbal could make Emperor Akbar realize his mistake.
