Question 8: Why do you think it is so important for human beings to tell stories?
Answer: Storytelling is an intrinsic human trait. It gives rise to a collective memory of past generations. A community’s history can be known through past stories. Story includes complex human feelings and emotions which can be shared with other people. Through storytelling, the information is passed on across many generations. Stories help us explain everything in our experience from science to relationships, from feelings to memories, and from questions to objections. And with every story we hear, read, or listen, our mind makes cognitive and emotional connections that shape our perspective of the world.
