Answer: Gandhi’s parents were Karamchand and Putlibai Gandhi.

Question 4: Why did the Gandhi family move to Rajkot?

Answer: The Gandhi family had moved to Rajkot because Gandhi’s father had joined the Rajasthani court in Rajkot.

Answer: The school was a large building with a central courtyard. It had two levels. The entrance had a decorative arch and the school had a clock tower. The classrooms had wooden tables and benches. There were trees in the courtyard. They had Geometry, Sanskrit, Persian, and English classes. Gymnastics, football and cricket were compulsory.

Question 10: Why did the headmaster not believe the reason for Gandhi’s absence?

Answer: Gandhi had previously tried to skip his gymnastic class and leave early to attend to his ill father. This request had been denied so when he arrived late, it was assumed that he was making excuses.
