Answer: Ashamanja Babu was looking for information on laughing dogs in the book he bought.

Question 3: What incident from his own childhood was Ashamanja Babu reminded of after Brownie laughed?

Answer: Ashamanja Babu remembered the Doctor who came to visit their home in Chandernagore. He had sat on a chair which had collapsed under him. Ashamanja Babu had burst out in a fit of laugher and as a result, had his ears twisted by his father.
