Answer: Yun Ok was a young woman. She loved her husband deeply. Her husband had come back from wars. She found him a changed man. Now, he hardly ever talked to her. He had become very irritable. Yun Ok was in distress. She went to a hermit. She wanted the hermit to cure her husband. The hermit was a wise man. He showed her how anyone could be won through love and patience.

(b) Yun Ok’s husband

Answer: Yun Ok’s husband was a gentle and loving person. He had been to wars. When he came back, he was a changed man. Now, he hardly ever talked to his wife. He had become very irritable. His experiences of wars had filled his heart with bitterness. His wife was in great distress to see him changed so much. She thought some hermit’s potion could cure him. So, she went to a mountain hermit.

(c) The mountain hermit

Answer: The mountain hermit was a very wise person. Yun Ok wanted him to give her some potion to cure her husband. But the hermit knew what was wrong with her husband. The man had been away fighting in wars for three years. His heart was filled with bitterness. This bitterness could be removed only through love and patience. So, the hermit didn’t give her any potion. He didn’t give her any sermon. He simply made her realise how love and patience could win any man or beast.
