Answer: Offero was a godly person. He was a man of giant size and strength. He was kind and good to all and was always helping others in one way or the other.

Answer: Offero carried the old man on his shoulders and helped him taking him across the river.
Question 3: Why did Offero build a hut near the river?
Answer: Offero built a hut near the river because he wanted to help people cross the river.

Answer: The child wanted Offero to take him across the river.
Question 5: Why did Offero want the child to come into his hut?
Answer: It was a cold night and the child was shivering. There was a terrible storm and the weather was so rough that Offero wanted the child to come into his hut and he would take him across the river the next morning.

When people came to know of it, they gave Offero the name, ‘Christoffero’. From Christoffero, we get the English name, ‘Christopher’ which means ‘Bearer of Christ’.
