Question 1: The animals lived together as one large family. What was the problem in living like that?

Answer: The animals were living together as one large family on land but the problem was that none of them were getting space to move about freely.

Question 2: How were the following creatures affected?

(a) Birds

Answer: The birds hopped behind the trees to avoid the leaping leopards.

(b) Grasshoppers

Answer: The grasshoppers were getting flattened by the larger creatures.

(c) Fish

Answer: Fish were crawling on the ground and slid away on hearing the thundering hooves of the horses.

(d) Squirrels

Answer: Squirrels looked misshapen on being stepped on.

(e) Ants

Answer: Ants were scurried out of the way.

Question 3: What did Levo see at the waterhole?

Answer: At the waterhole, Levo observed all the animals and their behaviour.

Question 4: “Each family lives in a separate place”. Victor had said this about human beings. How did this idea help Levo to solve his jungle’s problem?

Answer: On observing how human beings lived in a separate place, Levo got the idea of allotting separate places in the jungle.

Question 5: What happened to the animals after they got the separate place to live?

Answer: Soon, the wings of the birds developed as they used them to fly more. Insects scurried inside the undergrowth making their unique sounds to warn other creatures of their presence. The rabbits made their homes inside burrows, while the monkeys lived on trees. All the animals had a lot of room to move about freely and safely.
