Answer: Naduk sold everything he had in order to pay off his debts.

Answer: Lakshman was a good friend of Naduk. Lakshman promised to keep the heavy iron beam safely with him until Naduk returned back.

Answer: Lakshman gave the excuse that mice have eaten the iron beam which was kept safely inside the store room.
