Answer: The different festivals celebrated are Holi, Baisakhi, Janmashtami, Dussehra, Diwali, Christmas. Most of the festivals are shared across different regional and religious communities, some of them are Holi, Diwali, Baisakhi, Christmas.

Question 2: What do you think of living in India with its rich heritage of diversity adds to your life?

Answer: We live in a country where we have numerous religions, culture and languages. We get to learn different languages, to know about different cultures, their beliefs, different traditions. Every region/culture enjoys different food. Living in such a diversity helps us to enjoy so many different foods, different attire. We cherish and enjoy every bit of its rich heritage.

Question 3: Do you think the term “unity in diversity” is an appropriate term to describe India? What do you think Nehru is trying to say about Indian unity in the sentence quoted above from his book The Discovery of India?

Answer: Yes, “unity in diversity” is definitely an appropriate term. Our country has a huge population with people from many different cultural backgrounds, different religions, speaking different languages, following different traditions and celebrating different festivals. Despite all these diversities, there is unity among the people. Yet, this huge diverse nation is always united and moves forward on the path of progress.
