Question 2: Why was the sun hazy in the sky?

Answer: The sun was hazy in the sky because of the smoke coming out of the volcano and terrible heat.

Question 3: How did the old man know that the volcano was going to erupt?

Answer: The old man knew that the volcano was going to erupt as he realised that the earthquake that had happened a few months ago and the smoke coming out of the volcano were somehow connected.
