Question 1: What did Colin do all the time? How do you know that he did this activity all the time?

Answer: Colin used to trot over different sorts of surfaces all the time.

The words ā€˜trottingā€™ and ā€˜trottedā€™ were repeated several times throughout the poem which tells us about his trotting.

Question 2: What is the difference between Colinā€™s trotting and other trotterā€™s trotting?

Answer: Unlike other trotters, Colinā€™s trotting hardly used to make a sound.

Question 3: What was the accident that Colin suffered?

Answer: One day, Colin slipped over a ball and fell down the staircase and broke all his legs and ankles.

Question 4: When can one hear Colin trotting? Why?

Answer: After the accident, Colinā€™s legs and ankles were plastered and he used to trot on crutches. So, whenever he used to trot at night people could hear the tapping sound.

Question 5: Give a few examples of rhyming words from the poem.

Answer: More-floor, loo-do, around-sound, ball-hall, legs-pegs.

Question 6: Give example of the following from the poem.

Answer: A hundred trotting trotters

(b) Personification

Answer: a hundred plastered legs
