Answer: The little kitten was named papaya by the children because one fine day it ate up nearly half a big ripe papaya which was placed on the dining table.

Answer: Afterwards, they climbed to one of the large house boat named the star of Kashmir, having pink curtains and flower pots.

Answer: They enjoyed watching the natural beauty of Kashmir and also the shikaras moving down the lake transporting flowers and vegetables.

Answer: Here, she refers to a kitten Papaya.

Answer: As soon as the lid of the basket was opened, Papaya came out with angry miaow. This let the mother know that papaya wanted to look around.

Answer: The statement shows the concern of a mother towards the cat who was living like their family member.

Answer: Since the cat feared of water, so the family had taken papaya on the lake with them where there was water all around without letting it to see. And they were moving, thus, they tricked her.

Answer: Yes, papaya was a good traveling cat. Inspite of being kept in a woven basket, bumped and carried roughly here and there, she kept sitting without any sound of anger and slept inside the basket.
Question 9: Do you think Nira and Niren should not have brought papaya to the house boat? Discuss.
Answer: Yes, Nira and Niren should not brought papaya to their house boat as there were water surrounding and cat feared water.
