Question 4: What did Dunant see during the war?

Answer: From the top of a hill, Dunant got a clear view of the battle field. He saw 300,000 men faced each other. When the dawn broke, the opposing army rushed at each other like wild beasts. Grenades and bombs were flying fast. People were killed either by bullets or trampled under horses and gun carriages.
