Answer: Tenali Raman was a special advisor and the eighth scholar in the court of King Krishnadevaraya of Vijayanagara Empire.

Answer: King Krishnadevaraya released the two thieves on a condition that they would become his spies and break into Tenali Raman’s house and steal valuables from there.
Question 3: How did Tenali Raman know that some thieves were hiding in the bushes?
Answer: Tenali Raman heard the rustling of leaves at night and realised that there were some thieves hiding in the bushes.

Answer: Tenali Raman filled the trunk with stones to outwit the thieves. He planned it in such a way that the thieves would think it was full of valuables.

Answer: The thieves started drawing water from the well because Tenali Raman had thrown trunk into the well and the thieves were trying to get that trunk.

Answer: Yes, Tenali’s plan worked. The thieves were happy at this easy chance and started drawing water from the well to get to the trunk. Almost at dawn, Tenali quietly came to the well and caught the thieves.

Answer: Tenali Raman thanked the thieves for letting him sleep well at night and for watering his plants.
