Little by little, he moved pulling away and at last freed his nose from the Crocodile.

Answer: Much to his delight, the elephant’s child discovered that now he could lift his trunk and hit the fly, squirt the river water on his back, without having to kneel, pluck fruits from the trees and scratch himself with it.
